2008 marks the 29th year of the FREE Music in the Park Summer Concerts each Wednesday evening at 7pm in beautiful Sylvester Park, downtown Olympia. Also, for the past three years the Port of Olympia has partnered with Music in the Park for one concert during the summer at the scenic Port Plaza on a Friday night. The concert season runs every week in July and August.

It’s summer fun for the whole family! Bring your blankets and picnic baskets to Sylvester Park to dine as you listen to the great sounds of all music genres including classical, jazz, blues, rock, Americana, and big bands.

The Olympia Downtown Association has a Music in the Park committee and a small volunteer base. The committee selects the talent, garners sponsorships and participates in the planning and concerts. The volunteers help at the event tent and venue to sell buttons and t-shirts and to help pack up after each concert. It’s a lot of fun to volunteer and, at the same time, listen to great music in the park or at the Port Plaza.
